Sky Blues Under 18s suffer narrow home league defeat to visiting Sheffield Wednesday

Coventry City Under 18s went down 1-0 to Sheffield Wenesday in their Premier Academy League clash at the Alan Higgs Centre on Saturday.

Charlie Dawes netted the only goal of the game for the Owls after 11 minutes, squeezing a finish just inside Alex Gott's near post despite the 'keeper doing well tto get a hand to the effort.

James Maddison went close to grabbing an equaliser after rattling the crossbar midway through the second half but it was as close as the Sky Blues came.

City have now registered back-to-back wins and defeats in their last four league encounters.
