Coventry City's new loan signing David Prutton has revealed manager Steven Pressley 'sold the club' to him before his sealed the move to the Sky Blues.
The 32-year old midfielder secured a loan move until the end of the season to City before yesterday's 5pm deadline from Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
Prutton has experience of playing in the Premier League with Southampton and has had successful spells with Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Swindon Town.
The City loanee has only made 10 appearances for the Owls this season and he is hoping for some valuable playing time with the Sky Blues.
Prutton said: "I'm coming back from an injury and I wasn't getting any games at Sheffield Wednesday so I needed to get game-time before the end of the season.
"I spoke to the manager here and he came across really well on the phone. He's worked with Lee Bullen (Sheffield Wednesday coach) in the past who is someone I've worked with quite closely over the last year.
"The manager said that he needed someone of my type and I need to play games so he definitely sold the club to me.
"It is a good club so there wasn't much of a decision to be made. I hope I'm involved as much as possible as with eight games left this season, there is plenty of playing time to enjoy."
The midfielder has enjoyed plenty of success at League One level having secured promotions with Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest.
Prutton is set to be involved in the match-day squad at Crewe tomorrow and he revealed former City loanee Chris Maguire spoke highly of Coventry City.
He added: "I would like to be involved tomorrow but it is the manager's decision. You don't go to any club expecting to play as that would be the wrong attitude.
"It is a young side here so maybe I can a bit of experience to the team and a bit of leadership as well because it is obvious the side need to get away from the relegation zone.
"I wouldn't have come if I didn't think I could do a job. It is obvious there are some very talented players here and they have had a great season.
"I spoke to Chris Maguire before coming to the club. He couldn't speak highly enough of the club and said the side likes to play football so I'm looking forward to getting started."
