'It's been frustrating' - Blair Adams

13 March 2014

The City left-back is hoping he can win his place back in Steven Pressley's Coventry City side...

Coventry City defender Blair Adams has revealed he is hoping to play a big part in the Sky Blues upcoming run of games, following his return to the side at Gillingham on Tuesday.

The South Shields man came on following Dan Seaborne's red card, and hopes to add to the 38 appearances he has made for the Sky Blues this season.

"It's always frustrating to miss some games, as you always want to be in every game. But that's part of the parcel of football." said the 22-year old.

"I've kept my head down in training and worked hard, so hopefully that means that I'll have a chance to play in the next few games.

"Just like every footballer, all I want to be doing is playing every game."

City manager may have to adjust his tactics as well as his line of defence ahead of Sunday's game against Port Vale at Sixfields.

But Adams has said that he is willing to adjust his game in order to fulfil his manager’s wishes.

He added: "If the boss wants me to sit back I'm happy to do so. Obviously I like to get forward but it's about the team.

"Now I hopefully have my chance Sunday, and I can start playing some games again towards the end of the season."

City currently sit 14th in the SkyBet League One table, six points clear of the drop zone.

However Adams is confident that City will be looking up, rather than down in the near future.

The left-back continued: "It's been tough the last few games but spirits are still high. We have been looking over our shoulders, you have too.

"We have some great players though, some real match winners, and we will work hard and hopefully we'll climb back up the table. "If we do work hard we are confident of putting another good run together."
