'Hoping to extend Michael Petrasso deal'

13 March 2014

The City boss believes the winger has adapted to City's attacking system...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has revealed the club are hopeful of sealing an extended loan deal for winger Michael Petrasso.

The Canadian-born midfielder has impressed during his time with the Sky Blues, starting all six games of his 28-day loan spell.

The loan deal ended on Wednesday but Petrasso continued to train with the squad today ahead of the weekend’s clash against Port Vale.

Pressley hopes an extended deal can be reached as he believes the 18-year old has adapted to the City’s high-press system.

The City boss said: “We hope the deal can be concluded and that he will be available for Sunday’s game against Port Vale. We think he has done really well whilst he has been here.

“We’re speaking to QPR about it at the moment. We are very respectful of the decision they come to.

“Michael has adapted to our system brilliantly. He has brought into the high tempo and high work-rate we’ve got at the club. I think he could get even better if we were able to keep him here until the end of the season.”
