'Delighted to win the award' - Moussa

17 March 2014

The City midfielder has been delighted with the progress he has made at Coventry City this season...

Coventry City midfielder Franck Moussa admitted he was 'buzzing' after scoring the goal which secured the Mitre Goal of the Year award at the Football League awards.

The Belgian midfielder scored an outstanding chip from the edge of the area in the 3-1 win over Leyton Orient at Sixfields in November.

The 24-year old was awarded the Mitre Goal of the Year at the Football League awards, beating several great contenders to the crown.

After accepting the award, Moussa believes he has progressed as a player by adding more goals to his game this season.

Moussa said: "When I saw it went in, I was absolutely buzzing, big time. It was a great goal to score and it is something I've been working on this season.

"I saw a little gap at the far post and they gave me a little bit of space so I thought I'd go for it. Luckily, it went in.

"I've added a lot of goals to my game this season and I'm hopeful I'll be able to score a few more before the season ends.

"I scored six goals last season so I wanted to get double figures. I got to double figures quite early which was good so I've got to keep going."
