Coventry City’s on-loan striker Chuba Akpom starred for Arsenal Under-19s as they crashed out of the UEFA Youth League against Barcelona.
In a tight game in Catalonia, Munir El Haddadi put the home side ahead after the half-hour mark only to pegged back by a Serge Gnabry strike two minutes before half-time.
Adama Traore restored Barcelona’s lead in the 50th minute but it was Akpom who equalised for the Gunners after converting a Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill cross at the near post in the 82nd minute.
The young Gunners couldn't hold out though and goals from Wilfred Kaptoum and a second from Traore secured Barca’s passage to the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League.
Akpom will return to the Sky Blues and should be in contention for the trip to Brentford at the weekend.
