Coventry City continue their four-game week with a pre-season friendly against Championship side Watford.

The Sky Blues suffered defeat by Newport County as Ismail Yakubu's 19th minute header ensured a 1-0 victory for the Exiles.

Steven Pressley made nine changes at half-time at Spytty Park as he looks to give his entire squad valuable game-time in pre-season.

Overview

Watford finished 12 points off the play-offs in the 2013/14 Championship season and the Hornets will be looking to better that position next season.

The Hornets have strengthened during the summer by bringing back Matej Vydra on loan from Udinese. The Czech striker scored 24 goals for the Hornets during the 2012/13 Championship season

Irish international Keith Andrews has joined the club on a season-long loan whilst Ecuador international right-back Juan Paredes signed a five-year deal.

Giuseppe Sannino has built a strong side for the 2014/15 season and will be looking to challenge for promotion to the Premier League next season.

John Eustace

The experienced midfielder started his career at Coventry City and made over 80 league appearances for the club over a seven-year spell before joining Stoke City in 2003.

Eustace joined the Hornets in 2008 and was a consistent performer for the Hornets over a two-year spell, making over 150 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals.

The 34-year old left Watford last summer to join East Midlands side Derby County.

Paul Furlong

The former City striker joined the Sky Blues in 1991 after impressing for non-league club Enfield. Furlong spent one year with Coventry City, notching four goals in 37 appearances.

Furlong joined Watford in 1992 and had a successful two-year spell at the club. Furlong scored 37 league goals in 79 appearances before moving to Chelsea in 1994.

The journeyman striker went on to have a 21-year career, playing for clubs such as Birmingham City, Queens Park Rangers and Luton Town.

Robert Page

The former Welsh international defender started his career at the Hornets and made over 200 appearances for the club over an eight-year spell.

Page joined Sheffield United in 2001 and after a three-year spell with the Blades, he joined Cardiff City.

The defender joined the Sky Blues in 2005 and made 70 league appearances for City over a three-year spell, scoring one goal.

After spells at Huddersfield Town and Chesterfield, Page ended his career in 2011.
