Sky Blues contend with flurry of first half red cards to keep clean sheet against Greek top flight outfit in penultimate tour friendly

Coventry City recorded another clean sheet in the third friendly clash of their pre-season tour after drawing 0-0 with Greek top flight side AEL Kalloni in game that saw four red cards.

Danny Pugh and Billy Daniels both saw red for the Sky Blues as did Kalloni's Paul Keite and Manuel Dalgado in a hot-tempered first 29 minutes.

The flurry of cards dampened the encounter between the two sides who both became wary of potential dismissals in the second half although the frenzy of the first 45 minutes went unrepeated after the break.

The penultimate tie of the Sky Blues' tour of Italy again saw manager Steven Pressley make wholesale changes as only youngsters Aaron Phillips, James Maddison and Jack Finch played the full 90 mihutes.

Loanee goalkeeper Ryan Allsop started in goal for City but was replaced after 60 minutes by Lee Burge and it was the same for Andy Webster, trialist Marcus Tudgay and Ryan Haynes who were all replaced on the hour by John Fleck, Shaun Miller and Jordan Willis respectively.

Jordan Clarke, Jim O'Brien and Ivor Lawton all got 45 minutes under their belt before being replaced by Dan Seaborne, Conor Thomas and Danny Swanson.

Coventry City: Allsop (Burge 60), Phillips, Webster (Fleck 60), Clarke (Seaborne 46), Pugh (sent off 15, replaced by Haynes, sub for Willis 60), Lawton (C Thomas 46), Finch, Daniels (sent off 29), O'Brien (Swanson 46), Tudgay (Miller 60), Maddison
