Devon Kelly-Evans scores as Coventry City Under-18s draw against Peterborough United

City Under-18s continue their preparations for the 2014/15 season with a 1-1 draw against the Posh...

Coventry City Under-18s continued their pre-season preparations with a 1-1 draw against Peterborough United at the Alan Higgs Centre.

The Sky Blues faced Luton Town earlier in the week as the Academy squad continue to be put through a difficult pre-season schedule to prepare for the 2014/15 season.

City's defence kept an impressive clean sheet in midweek but couldn't build on that as the Posh headed home from an early corner.

The Sky Blues didn't take long to respond as after good work from Cian Harries on the left, Devon Kelly-Evans slotted home from a cross to continue his impressive pre-season form.

City dominated proceedings in the second half but couldn't break down the Posh defence.

Coventry City Under-18s coach Jason Farndon said: "Disappointing to concede the goal we did but the response was really impressive and Devon took his goal really well.

"It was a difficult game for us as we had around 80% possession but Peterborough dropped back so it was difficult to break them down.

"Also, with James Maddison and George Thomas away with the first team and Bassala Sambou injured, we had to shift a few bodies around so all things considered, it was a good run-out for the side."
