Coventry City defender Reda Johnson has been called up for international duty with Benin.

The 26-year-old joined the Sky Blues this month after leaving Championship side Sheffield Wednesday at the end of his contract.

Johnson has been called up for Benin's first-leg match against Malawi in Cotonou on Sunday, July 20th in the second round of qualifying for the African Cup of Nations qualification group stages. 

The second leg between the two sides will be played on Saturday, August 2nd.

The City defender will immediately travel to Italy on Sunday to join up with Steven Pressley's squad for the pre-season tour but he will miss the pre-season friendly against Nuneaton Town on Saturday.
