Sky Blues supporter picks the chance to watch Steven Pressley's squad train after becoming latest winner of 2014/15 Season Ticket competition

Coventry City fan John Russell has won the chance for a special day behind the scenes at the club’s Ryton Training ground as he embarks on his 40th year of supporting the Sky Blues.

John, originally from Warwickshire, has been a Season Ticket holder with City since 1996, having first supported the club since the 1970s.

He was picked out of a prize draw after renewing his Season Ticket earlier this month and, after being presented with a list of prizes, he opted to take a day at the training ground watching the first team being put through their paces ahead of the new season.

And John, who travels from Hampshire to watch the Sky Blues in action, said he was delighted with the prize and is looking forward to the new season.

“I never win anything, so it was a huge shock to get the call,” he said.

“It was a great surprise on top of my Season Ticket. I’ve never been to see the team train, so that’s one I can tick off the list! It’s a brilliant opportunity for me to go down and see the infamously tough sessions first hand.

“There are lots of new players that have joined the club in the summer and winning the prize has made me even more excited ahead of the new season. I’m really looking forward to going to Ryton!”

Sky Blues supporters who purchase their Season Tickets or Corporate Season Tickets for the 2014/15 League One campaign before early bird prices end on August 1 will automatically be entered into our weekly prize draw.

Every week a name will come out of the hat and that person will be able to pick one prize off the list. But once it's gone, it's gone so the earlier you buy your 2014/15 Season Ticket the better choice of prizes you will have if you win.

Season Tickets start from as little as £184 for adults before August 1.
