Sky Blues complete loan signing of Bournemouth duo as part of deal which sees Callum Wilson join the Cherries

Coventry City have welcomed on-loan duo Ryan Allsopp and Mohamed Coulibaly on-loan from Bournemouth as part of the deal that saw Callum Wilson move the other way.

The pair have joined the Sky Blues until January 2015 with discussions ongoing regarding the arrival of a third player from the Cherries.

Goalkeeper Allsopp, 22, graduated through West Bromwich Albion’s Academy before going on to have spells at Millwall, Hottur in Iceland and Leyton Orient. He has been capped at England under-17 level.

Coulibaly, 25, joined Bournemouth last year on a free transfer from Swiss top flight side Grasshoppers. He starred in the club’s pre-season friendly with Real Madrid but was struck by Achilles injury in September after making eight competitive appearances for the Cherries in 2013/14.

City manager Steven Pressley said: “I am thrilled to get two excellent players in the building as part of the deal that sees Callum moving to Bournemouth.

“While we didn’t want Callum to go, it was important to ensure we could improve the squad on the back of his departure and these arrivals will certainly help us to do that.

“Ryan’s arrival will provide very strong competition to Lee Burge and I want to go into the new season with players really pushing one another for the first team jersey in every position.

“Mohamed is also a very good footballer who has shown an exemplary mentality to return from such a difficult injury and arrive here with a clean bill of health and a hunger to make an impact.

"He will fit well into our style of play and the high level of intensity we expect both in training and in games."
