'We are hungrier this time' - Moussa

23 January 2014

The City midfielder is also looking forward to playing on the excellent Emirates surface...

Coventry City midfielder Franck Moussa believes the squad is hungrier than the side that last visited the Emirates in the Capital One Cup defeat last season.

The Sky Blues have only lost once in their last 12 games in all competitions on the road, which dates back from the start of October.

Moussa made his City debut when they last visited the Emirates in 2012, and is one of only six players remaining from the squad that suffered a 6-1 defeat.

Moussa said: “The team has changed a lot since we last played Arsenal. There are a lot of younger players now, established within the first team, that are very hungry.

“There has also been a change of manager, so some of the tactics and the philosophy of the squad is different.

“This allows us to be confident in going to the Emirates and give a good account of ourselves.”

There is set to be over 60,000 at the Emirates, Arsenal’s home since 2006, on Friday night and City will be backed by a strong Sky Blue Army of 5,100 fans.

Arsenal have only lost once at home this season in the Premier League, and only three times in all competitions. They have also scored 29 goals at the Emirates, conceding 10 in all competitions.

The ground won the Premier League Pitch of the Year award in 2012 and the City midfielder is relishing a return to North London on Friday evening.

He continued: “The last time we played at the Emirates, the pitch was unbelievable and the stadium itself is a very nice arena.

“It is a great place to play football with it being in the capital as well, and is something we relish as a team.

“We have been on a great run of form lately and have recorded some great wins away home this season.

“We have to be confident going into the game. If we stick to the game-plan, we will always have a chance.”
