City signs shirt sponsor deal with 12BET

17 January 2014

The Sky Blues have completed a deal with the company for the FA Cup tie with Arsenal....

Coventry City have agreed a one-off shirt sponsorship deal with online betting firm 12BET for the FA Cup tie with Arsenal.

The Sky Blues completed the deal with the company this week and it will see the firm’s logo on the front of City’s away kit as they take on the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium on January 24.

The FA Cup, with Budweiser, fourth round tie is being broadcast live by BT Sport and means the 12BET (pronounced one-two bet) logo will be seen by millions worldwide.

The club’s kit has been adorned by the Grace Research Fund’s logo for most of the league games this season but bosses at the charity said they were only too happy for Coventry City to sell a one-off sponsorship for the cup tie.

Tynan Scope, Coventry City’s corporate sales manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have agreed this deal with 12BET.

“We knew once the draw was made and then when the game was chosen for television that there would be strong interest in the sponsorship of the kit.

“The Grace Research Fund is a fantastic cause and remains the club’s nominated charity for the year. They had always said that if a commercial opportunity such as this came our way that they would be happy for a company to have its logo on the shirts.

“The fact that it is against Arsenal, it’s the FA Cup and it’s on TV made it a very attractive proposition for a sponsor and we are thrilled to be working with 12BET.”

Rory Anderson, the CEO of 12BET Europe, said: “12BET’s logo received fantastic winning exposure in last season’s FA Cup and by sponsoring Coventry for their forthcoming tie against Arsenal, this momentum will continue and hopefully provide a lucky omen to the Sky Blues at the Emirates.

“Coventry’s iconic 1987 cup win against Tottenham Hotspur sums up what this competition is all about just as Wigan, who are sponsored by 12BET, winning over Manchester City in last season’s final did.

“Coventry City will always be a big part of the FA Cup’s history and we are delighted to be associated with the club.”

Based in the Isle of Man, 12BET offers thousands of events and competitive odds for live betting across the main bet types. Primarily focused on football, 12BET events cover over 75 leagues and, on average 7,000 events per month.
