'We will use the loan window' - Pressley

3 February 2014

The City boss has also praised the impact Nathan Delfouneso has had on the squad...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has confirmed he will be looking to utilise the emergency loan window.

After a busy January transfer window, the emergency loan window is only days away as it opens on Saturday, February 8th.

The club were unable to bring in another striker during January, despite late efforts by Pressley and Development Director Steve Waggott.

The City manager will continue his search for a new striker when the window opens and maybe bring in one more player.

Pressley said: "We are definitely looking at the loan window as I think the squad could still use a few more bodies in.

"There is a need for at least one more striker just to provide the competition which is needed up front.

"It might be two strikers but we could also use another wide player as well so it something we will assess."

Nathan Delfouneso is set to make his debut against Bristol City after sealing his loan move from Premier League Aston Villa in the January transfer window.

Pressley believes he has provided a boost to the squad and will make an impact against the Robins.

He added: "I think the players in the squad have really responded to seeing some new faces enter the building.

"It always lifts the squad and Nathan is a fantastic player who has shown a lot of promise in training.

"He has really enjoyed training so far and even said to me he is enjoying the levels of intensity the squad have every day.

"That has probably surprised him a bit so I am sure everyone can't wait to perform on the pitch."
