DAY 6: Coventry City hit six in their last ever game at Highfield Road...

19 December 2014

On Day 6 of our Christmas countdown, we look at the day City netted six and sent Highfield Road into raptures...

In the 12 days leading up to Christmas we're giving Sky Blues supporters a '12 days of Christmas' feature, where every day in the build up to the big day we'll be reflecting on legends and big matches, as well as offering some fantastic competitions to celebrate the festive period. On Day Six of our 12 days, the Sky Blues hit Derby for six in a magical final game at Highfield Road...

Coventry City produced a stunning victory to mark their last game at Highfield Road, netting six in a 6-2 win over Derby County.

The Sky Blues raced into a 4-0 half-time lead through a brace from Gary McSheffrey, Dele Adebola's individual effort and Stern John's header.

Derby netted thanks to Adam Bolder, but John scored his second to restore the four-goal lead.

The visitors struck again through Paul Peschisolido's low shot but substitute Andy Whing's superb half-volley gave Highfield Road the perfect send-off.

Here are some of the best pictures from that day!
