BETTING PREVIEW: Coventry City 13/8 to beat Port Vale tomorrow and make it just one defeat in six league games

12 December 2014

The Sky Blues are very slight underdogs to come away from Vale Park with all three points and SkyBet is there to cover every betting possibility...

Coventry City take on Port Vale in SkyBet League One tomorrow at Vale Park and SkyBet have all the odds covered if you fancy a punt this weekend.

The Sky Blues have only lost once in five league games and are 13/8 to win. Vale are priced at 8/5, with the draw available at 23/10, showing that the bookies think it will be an even game.

The head to head record is slightly on the Valiants' side and seven of the last eight games have been a draw or decided by the odd goal. if you think history will repeat itself you can get City to win by exactly one goal at 100/30.

If you fancy goals, the over/under for the game is 2.5. A bet on over 2.5 goals is placed at 5/6, with under 2.5 goals available at the same odds.

In terms of first goalscorers, the odds are slightly more even with the news that leading man Tom Pope will miss the game for Vale. Ben Williamson is 5/1 favourite to break the deadlock for Vale, with Jordan Slew 11/2 and Danny N'Guessan 6/1.

For the Sky Blues Frank Nouble is 6/1 favourite. Gary Madine and Simeon Jackson are 7/1, with Josh McQuoid 13/2.

It promises to be a tight game and following my success of Wednesday's long shot coming in, a City victory looks great value. With the history of one goal wins, Coventry to win either 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 at 11/4 is a price too big to ignore.

In a new feature, our resident Sky Blues Tipster will be placing a £10 bet on his Hot tip, as well as £10 to place on his long shot. We will be tracking his profits (or losses!) over the course of the season so you can see where you would be if you followed his tips!

The Tipster had a fantastic start on Wednesday, winning his long shot bet on the first attempt! Can he repeat the feat this time around?
