BETTING PREVIEW: Coventry City 4/1 outsiders to beat Bristol City and reach the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Area Final

10 December 2014

The Sky Blues are long odds against the Robins but will hope that history repeats itself, as they won 2-1 in the last match between the two at Ashton Gate..

Coventry City take on Bristol City in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Southern Section Semi-Final and there are some tempting prices available from SkyBet if you fancy a flutter.

The Robins are red-hot favourites to win the match at 8/13. City are 4/1 outsiders, with the draw available at 3/1. Remember that there will be no extra time on the night, with the match going straight to penalties if it is still draw after 90 minutes.

If you fancy the Sky Blues to win, then the option of City to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 is available at 5/1, a cracking price. The option of draw no bet can be found at 11/4, which may be a good way of hedging your bets if you fancy the Sky Blues.

In the first goalscorer markets the usual suspects are short odds for both teams. Kieran Agard is 4/1 favourite, with Aaron Wilbraham 9/2 and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas 5/1.

For City, four strikers are all joint-favourites. Frank Nouble, Josh McQuoid, Simeon Jackson and Gary Madine will all be pushing for first team contention and they can all be found at 9/1 to open the scoring.

Although their league form has been contrasting, the magic of the cup means that anything can happen. The fact that you can get the double chance of Coventry or the draw over evens means that it is my hot tip for the night.

In a new feature, our resident Sky Blues Tipster will be placing a £10 bet on his Hot tip, as well as £10 to place on his long shot. We will be tracking his profits (or losses!) over the course of the season so you can see where you would be if you followed his tips!
