The City boss has also backed the signings the club has already made during the summer transfer window...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has revealed he is still pursuing a defender and a striker before the summer transfer window closes on Monday.

The Sky Blues travel to Swindon Town tomorrow as they look to build on a solid start to the 2014/15 League One season which includes a win over Sheffield United and draws against Barnsley and MK Dons.

City have made 11 signings throughout the summer as the City boss looked to bolster his squad options for the season and the transfer deadline closes on Monday.

Pressley has confirmed he is still looking to add to his squad but has also said he could also pursue the loan market.

The City boss said: "We're still looking to bring in a central defender. We've got to make sure they're the right type of player we want though and we're not going to sign players for the sake of it.

"We're still looking at potentially bringing a striker in who could bring a bit of physicality into the squad but we've got some fantastic strikers here.

"We're not just looking in the domestic market but also looking abroad but I'm not counting out the loan market at the moment. It is something we can definitely utilise."
