2014/15 Season Ticket holder Sandra Cowell excited to take grand daughter to see Sky Blues play for the very first time

A Coventry City supporter who watches England all around the world cannot wait to give her granddaughter the opportunity to see the Sky Blues live for the first time.

Sandra Cowell, from Whitley in Coventry, has watched City for 43-years, alongside travelling across the globe to watch the Three Lions play.

Sandra, who attended her first game at the age of seven, is passing the baton on to her granddaughter, Amelia.

The two-year-old accompanied her grandmother to the CCFC Superstore where she was one of the first supporters to secure their Season Ticket for the 2014/15 season since the announcement that the club was returning the Ricoh Arena.

She admitted that despite travelling to all these luxurious locations, nothing will beat going to the Ricoh with her granddaughter.

“I go home and away to watch England and follow them around the world, but nothing beats club football,” Sandra said.

“I’m elated we are back, it’s just great for every supporter and the city. We’ve been listening to the games but obviously it’s not the same as seeing the team live.

“We all have to get behind Steven Pressley and his team now and I know we all can’t wait to be back.

“I can’t wait to take my granddaughter with me now and keep it in the family! My first game was when I was seven so I’m giving Amelia a head start at the age of two – I’m really looking forward to when she is old enough to come.

“I can’t wait to start going with her and it’s going to be really special for me.”

Dave Warren and his son, John, were also at the club shop to secure their seats and both were delighted at the return, admitting they had missed seeing the Sky Blues in action.

“We’ve been to a few away games and a few of the pre-season games,” said Dave.

“Hopefully it will be a full house for the Gillingham game and we can get the place rocking again.

John added: “You don’t realise how much you miss it when you don’t go. Every fan is really positive and we hope that everyone’s support will help us have a good season.”

Previous 2012/13 season ticket holders can secure their old seat now, while season tickets go on general sale on Friday from 9.30am.

Season tickets start from £252 for adults, concessions start at £189, Juniors start at £126, Junior Sky Blue members start from £63 and JSBs under-12 are free in the Family Zone.

Supporters are advised to buy online at www.ccfcshop.co.uk but can call 024 7699 2326 or head to the CCFC Superstore at the Gallagher Retail Park.
