The Sky Blues get a point on the opening day of the Under-21s season against an impressive Swans side....
Coventry City Under-21s claim a point on the opening day of the Professional Development League season against Swansea City.
New signing Simeon Jackson completed 45 minutes for the Sky Blues and Mohamed Coulibaly played 60 minutes as he continues to recover from a groin injury.
The Swans dominated the early proceedings at Liberty Way and almost went ahead in the 13th minute when Alex Samuel's shot was brilliantly saved by City keeper Lee Burge and defender Cian Harries blocked the rebound on the line.
Five minutes later, Burge once again had to produce a brilliant save when Kris Scott got behind the City defence and the City keeper produced a brilliant one-handed save.
City improved after the break and should have took the lead a minute into the second-half when a right-sided corner found captain Ivor Lawton at the back-post and his header was cleared off the line.
Kenji Gorre and Kyle Copp tested Burge from range before Jack Finch put a low effort wide from the edge of the area in the 68th minute.
George Thomas fired a 25-yard powerful effort over the bar in the 86th minute before Kurtis March's goal-bound shot was blocked by Cian Harries in the final minute.
Despite late pressure from the Swans, both sides claimed a point in their first game of the season.
