The City boss has revealed Aaron Phillips could come into the side to replace Jordan Clarke who has suffered illness throughout the week...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has revealed defender Jordan Clarke is a 'major doubt' for tomorrow's game against Swindon Town.

The City boss also revealed he has been delighted with the levels of progress left-back Danny Pugh has made since he suffered injury against Cardiff City in the Capital One Cup.

Aaron Phillips, who played 90 minutes for the Under-21s against Sheffield United on Monday, could come into the side and Pressley said he's happy with the selection headache in several positions.

Pressley said: "Jordan Clarke has missed a bit of training this week through illness and he is a major doubt tomorrow.

"Aaron Phillips is an option we're looking at of course and it could be a chance for him. Every time he came into the side last season, he made a really good impression.

"He had injury problems and the end of last season and took his time to come up to speed in pre-season but now I think he is back to the Aaron Phillips we know.

"We've also had some really good news on Danny Pugh as the first signs were looking like he would be out for a long time. He has reacted really positively to the treatment and he'll be in the group tomorrow.

"We've got a few players who are pushing for a start and it seems everyone in the squad are pushing themselves to be in my starting XI."
