City's corporate sales manager stepped up his fundraising efforts during training this week...
Coventry City corporate sales manager Tynan Scope cycled for five hours yesterday as he steps up his fundraising efforts for Prostate Cancer UK.
With the London to Amsterdam bike ride closing in, Tynan was at City's Ryton training ground yesterday cycling on a turbo-trainer throughout the morning whilst the City squad prepared for tomorrow's game against Peterborough United.
Tynan will hop on the saddle this summer and join the Football League and Prostate Cancer UK event which will see plenty of fellow riders, including former England and AC Milan striker Luther Blissett, pedal their way to Amsterdam from London to raise money for the PCUK charity.
Scope was able to raise around £135 throughout the morning which takes his donations up to just over £1800, as he sets his sights on a £2000 target.
Tynan said: "It was a great, although slightly difficult, morning. I cycled to Ryton before staying on the saddle throughout the morning as I watched the City squad train. I had lunch with the players to refuel before cycling in the afternoon as the players left and cycled back.
"It meant I was on the saddle for around five hours which is great for my training towards the big ride in the summer. The players and staff were generous in their donations which meant that the morning was definitely worth it.
"I've now raised over £1800 so I'm hoping I can get over the £2000 line soon. I plan to continue my fundraising efforts right up until the bike ride so watch this space."
Over 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year, with a quarter of all new cases of cancer diagnosed in the UK to men being prostate cancer.
