Hart breaks Marathon milestones

Sky Blues head physio beats his personal best at Brighton Marathon on way to raising over £1,000 for Guide Dogs

Coventry City head physiotherapist Dave Hart achieved two personal milestones when he took part in the 2014 Brighton Marathon on Saturday.

Hart broke the three-hour barrier for the first time, finishing the 26.2-mile course in two hours and 57 minutes, and also took his fundraising efforts for Guide Dogs for the Blind through the £1,000 mark.

He said: "I'm delighted to have raised more than £1,000 so far for Guide Dogs, it's a great mark to go past and it was made all the better that I managed to achieve a personal best on the day as well.

"I went in saying I wanted to do the distance in under three hours so I'm really pleased.

"The eventual winner finished the race in just over two hours and a colleague also noted that I can say I finished in the same hour as a world class athlete so that was a nice way of looking at it.

"In all seriousness though, this was about raising as much money as possible for an extremely worthwhile cause in Guide Dogs which does incredible work and gives huge support to so many visually impaired people."
