Dylan McGeouch stars in Terriers draw

Goals from Ryan Haynes and Dylan McGeouch seal a point in a 2-2 draw at the John Smith's Stadium...

Coventry City Under-21s sealed a point at table-topping Huddersfield Town in their final game of the season.

Nathan Delfouneso and Dylan McGeouch started for Ian Foster's side as they look to get valuable minutes on the pitch after their substitute appearances against Peterborough United.

It was a poor start from City and the home side went ahead with their first attack of the game. Jack Finch was caught in possession and Huddersfield striker Harry Bunn found the net past City keeper Lee Burge in the 10th minute.

After going behind, the Sky Blues dominated proceedings against a side who had already won the Under-21s League.

Louis Garner's low shot was blocked after good work from the impressive Dylan McGeouch in the 14th minute and Garner had another effort two minutes later, but he curled his shot wide.

City got level in the 22nd minute when a brilliant move involving McGeouch, Nathan Delfouneso and Garner found Ryan Haynes in the area to slot home.

City should have been ahead going into the break but George Thomas fired over at the back-post from Rankin's cross in the 35th minute and Jack Finch headed over from a corner two minutes later.

The Sky Blues continued to dominate after the break and it only took the young side five minutes to go ahead. McGeouch capitalised on a defensive error and he found the bottom corner with a calm finish.

Haynes almost doubled his tally for the afternoon just two minutes later but his left-sided cross hit the post before Rankin curled a long-range effort narrowly wide in the 57th minute.

Thomas could have stretched City's lead but he fired his powerful effort narrowly wide from just outside the area in the 65th minute before the home side found an equaliser.

The City defence failed to clear a left-sided corner and Harry Bunn turned his defender to slot home in the 76th minute.

City had chances to win the game in the final ten minutes, but it ended all square at the John Smith's Stadium.
