Injury concerns ahead of Walsall

25 October 2013

Sky Blues boss Steven Pressley has confirmed some injury worries before tomorrow's match at Walsall...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has confirmed both Conor Thomas and Jordan Willis are doubts heading into the game with Walsall.

Both players played in the 3-1 win over league-leaders Leyton Orient during midweek and have picked up knocks meaning they won't train before the match at the Bescot Stadium.

Thomas has played every minute so far this season whist Willis has covered for Cyrus Christie at right-back who is currently out with an ankle injury.

The City boss said: "Our physio phoned me yesterday and it seems we have doubts on a couple of players ahead of the game.

"Conor Thomas and Jordan Willis are both doubts and they will not train today before the match.

"We will assess them tomorrow morning to see if they can play and that is the state of play at the moment with them."

Sky Blues midfielder Thomas added: "I don't know how it happened really. It was during the game on Tuesday as when I got up the next day, I couldn't walk on it or get out of bed.

"There is just a bit of swelling on it at the moment so hopefully it calms down before tomorrow so I can play.

"I'm staying positive and I'm hoping it is going to be alright. When you're in the side, you want to keep playing so if I rest up today, it could be fine by tomorrow."
