VIDEO: Opening of the CCFC Superstore

Watch manager Steven Pressley cut the ribbon to the new CCFC Superstore and we grab the players' thoughts on the store...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley believes the opening of the new CCFC Superstore helps mark a 'new era' for the football club.

The Sky Blues boss has led his team to just three points outside the play-off positions despite starting the 2013/14 League One season with a 10-point deduction.

During the grand opening of the new CCFC Superstore, which will serve as a retail, ticketing and community hub for all things Coventry City, fans got the chance to mingle with the club stars Jordan Willis, Aaron Phillips, Cyrus Christie, Jordan Clarke, Cyrus Christie and manager Steven Pressley.

Around 800 supporters were present for opening night and the City boss praised the grand opening as an 'incredible evening'.

Pressley said: "It has been a number of months since the club has had a store to sell merchandise from and a lot of people have worked extremely hard in the background to create this.

"The store is very much in keeping as what I would describe as a very big football club. One of the reasons I came to this football club is because it has enormous potential and I think this opening proves that with the amount of people who have turned up.

"Obviously, the feeling amongst the supporters is very good right now, on the back of a six-game unbeaten run and that positivity has shone through tonight when I have met fans.

"I think the fans are very proud of the way the team is going about their football at the moment and it has been important for the players to hear that. We are all very excited at the moment and we are at the start of a new era, which this store goes some way to representing."

Jordan Clarke has been a vital player for City this season, converting to the centre-back position from right-back and he feels the grand opening won't be his last visit to the Superstore.

Clarke commented: "It is a great turnout from the fans who have come down. The store is looking great and it is in a really good location which of course is vital to make sure the fans get down here.

"I have been looking around the store with Cyrus (Christie) and Conor (Thomas), and the new 132-inch screen is definitely the best part for me. I don't know who is the best at FIFA, but I'm sure we'll be down here to find out.

"If the screen is going to be here every day, you can expect me down here many more times in the future."
