Under-21s suffer defeat at Forest

29 November 2013

Ian Foster's young side fell to a 2-0 defeat but James Maddison returns from back injury...

Coventry City Under-21s were defeated 2-0 against Nottingham Forest at the Nigel Doughty Academy.

The Sky Blues fielded a young side with the first-team game against MK Dons tomorrow.

Courtney Baker-Richardson, George Thomas, Ivor Lawton and Alex Gott all started against Forest, players who have all been handed first-team squad numbers this season.

James Maddison, another player who has gained a first-team squad number this season, returned to Under-21s action having recovered from a back injury.

The Sky Blues were unable to secure victory against a strong Forest side, with goals either side of the break sealing the result.

Kieren Wallace finished well in the 39th minute to put Forest ahead and he secured his brace, and Forest's win, with another smart finish with 16 minutes remaining.
