Sky Blues defender extends his stay with the club for another three-and-a-half years
Coventry City defender Ryan Haynes has signed a new deal which keeps him at the club until June 2017.
The 18-year-old left back penned an extension to his current professional deal which commits him with the Sky Blues for the next three-and-a-half years.
Haynes has so far made two first team appearances for City's first team, making his debut last season under boss Steven Pressley in a home 1-1 draw with Brentford in April.
The youngster then went on to be handed his full debut this season in Coventry's 1-1 draw at Shrewsbury in August.
Pressley said he was delighted to further secure the services of Haynes who he highlighted as someone with 'an extremely bright future.'
"I've been extremely impressed with Ryan's committment and ability which is why we were so keen to extend his stay," he said.
"He's another full-back that likes to get high up the pitch but what's pleased me most about him is the way he has attacked his opportunities in the first team.
"I keep saying I want to put my trust in our young players and Ryan certainly justified his place in the starting line-up against Shrewsbury this season.
"The future looks bright for us across the back line with the likes of Jordan Clarke, Aaron Phillips, Jordan Willis, Blair Adams and Cyrus Christie and Ryan is a player that we see developing in that same mould."
