Leon Clarke faces extended lay-off

26 November 2013

Sky Blues striker could be out of action between three and four weeks through injury

Coventry City boss Steven Pressley says the Sky Blues could be without striker Leon Clarke for between three to four weeks.

Clarke missed City's 3-0 home defeat to Rotherham with a hip and thigh problem and Pressley said the 28-year-old faced a possible extended stay on the sidelines.

He said: "We're faced with a problem just now where Leon is likely to miss three to four weeks which is a major blow for ourselves.

"We've always ran with a relatively small squad and we've experienced a few injuries of late in a group of players that we've asked so much of.

"We play a high pressing game and maybe it's caught up with us a little bit and I do need to bring in a couple of players to give them some help and freshen things up."
