'Huge following is exciting' - Moussa

28 November 2013

City midfielder Franck Moussa says he wants to get back to winning ways when the Sky Blues return to the site of his stunning award-winning goal from last season

Coventry City midfielder Franck Moussa is looking forward to returning to stadium:mk, the place where he scored last season's Goal of the Season.

The Sky Blues return to Milton Keynes this weekend looking to emulate their 3-2 win last season as Franck Moussa scored a wonderful goal and Stephen Elliott notched a brace.

Moussa took the ball from just inside Dons' half and skipped past two defenders, including a nutmeg through Dean Lewington before firing past David Martin from an acute angle; a goal which fans voted the Goal of the Season.

City go into the game looking to recover from back-to-back defeats against Tranmere and Rotherham, and Moussa is positive the side can put recent results behind them.

The 24-year old said: "It has been difficult the last two games. We have worked really hard to get the results but it hasn't worked out for us.

"It is going to be a great occasion to go back to Milton Keynes and play in front of a huge following. Our away support has been fantastic this year, especially at Wolves and Walsall, where they really made a difference.

"I scored a great goal there last season which turned out to be Goal of the Season at the club. Hopefully I can do it again, but really it is about getting the win and setting us up for a good Christmas period.

"I've got great memories from playing in that stadium and we have to look to do the same again this year. More fans are turning up this time which is incredible because we sold it out last season."

City are currently 13th in the League One table, seven points outside the play-off places, and five points from the relegation spots.

MK Dons are one point ahead of the Sky Blues and Moussa believes the team can carry on their impressive away form this season.

He added: "We know the expectations have gone up this season because we have done so well. We have come such a long way in a short space of time so it is important to keep focused.

"A win is around the corner in football. The good thing is that you always have another game after a poor result to make it right. We are just looking forward to the next game.

"Hopefully, we will be able to send the fans back to Coventry after the game having witnessed a win and created another great memory for them."
