City first team join Sky Blues in the Community during their October half-term holiday activities
Sky Blues in the Community kept city schoolchildren busy over the recent October half-term holidays with their World Cup Camp as well as a surprise visit from four City first team players and...the Premier League trophy.
Adam Barton and Blair Adams dropped into Nicholas Chamberlaine School for SBitC's two-day World Cup Camp to sign autographs, answer questions and give advice the 45 children, aged between 5 and 12 years old, that attended.
It was a busy week for the first team squad when midfielder John Fleck and defender Ryan Haynes visited the 'On Target' project's stop-off in Radford.
Fleck and Haynes weren’t the only attraction on offer to children though, as the Premier League trophy was brought along as part of a national tour of community sports facilities refurbished by sponsors Barclays 'Spaces for Sports' programme.
Community Director David Busst said: “This was fantastic of the Football Foundation to arrange the Barclays Premier League trophy to visit Radford and our On Target project – a once in a lifetime opportunity for the children.
"Everyone attending also had the unexpected surprise of John and Ryan popping down as well. All of the children and staff attending had a great time.
“We have had great support from the manager Steven Pressley who is really encouraging the players to visit our initiatives. All of the youngsters who met Ryan, John, Blair and Adam were really pleased and went away with some fantastic memories.”
