City businesses help build superstore!

13 November 2013

Local businesses have been integral to building the new CCFC Superstore

The opening of the new Coventry City superstore has proved to be a team effort from a group of local firms.

The store at the Gallagher Retail Park is opening on Thursday (November 14) evening at 6pm with a ribbon cutting performed by manager Steven Pressley and top goalscorer Callum Wilson.

The club has recruited the services of a range of businesses from across the area to help kit out the store including retail fit-out specialists Active Interiors.

Moseley Signs has created and erected the internal and externals store signage and images while commercial security company Status Alarms has provided intruder and fire alarms.

Coventry-based Dreambox TV has provided the club with two 46ins digital posters while IT company VeriLan has provided its expertise to make sure the store is fully functional from the opening events.

Lakes Maintenance and Harbour Heights have also worked on the store, which will be opened for a preview to Season Ticket holders at 5pm on Thursday before being opened to the public between 6pm and 8pm.

Homegrown first team players Jordan Clarke, Jordan Willis, Aaron Phillips, Conor Thomas and Cyrus Christie will also be there on the night alongside Pressley, Wilson, coach Neil MacFarlane and goalkeeping coach Steve Ogrizovic.

Tynan Scope, corporate sales manager for Coventry City Football Club, said: “All of the staff at CCFC have put in a great deal of effort in the opening of the new store and we cannot wait to see it unveiled by Steven Pressley and Callum Wilson on Thursday night.

“There has also been a great team effort from many local businesses – from the fitting out of the store to its IT connections – and it is important to us to use local companies where we can.

“Many of them have been supporters of the club down the years and we are pleased we could put business their way with the opening of the new store.”

John McNamara, of Active Interiors, said: “As a lifelong City fan, it was fantastic to work with the club on the new superstore.

“It was particularly pleasing to be involved on such a prestigious site and we wish them all the best with this venture.”

Season Ticket holders will receive a 20 per cent discount on merchandise on the opening night and members will get 10 per cent off.

Following the opening event, the store will be open as normal from Friday (Nov 15) from 9.30am until 5.30pm.

General opening hours will be Monday to Saturday from 9.30am until 5.30pm and on Sunday from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
