Christie set to return to City squad

1 November 2013

Manager Steven Pressley has confirmed Cyrus Christie should return to the City squad this weekend, and gives an update on Billy Daniels' situation...

Coventry City right-back Cyrus Christie could return to the City squad for the game against Notts County.

The Sky Blues defender sustained an ankle injury in the late stages of the 1-0 win at Stevenage at the beginning of October.

Having rejoined first-team training this week, manager Steven Pressley hopes to have Christie involved against the Magpies.

The City boss said: "Cyrus (Christie) maybe involved this weekend, maybe not to start the game but there might be some level of involvement.

"With Jordan Willis now out injured, we may look to use him from the substitutes bench. It will be good to see if that is the case as it will give us a little bit of depth.

"He has rejoined training this week and has come through it, performing very well. He will certainly be involved in the group for Saturday."

Pressley also confirmed that Billy Daniels' hernia procedure was successful but he won't be involved against Notts County.

He added: "I believe it was a success. He won't have any involvement with the team this weekend but looking forward, he should be back soon.

"With the FA Cup tie brought forward to Friday, it might hinder his chances of a return then.

"If he doesn't make the Friday game, then he will certainly be available for the following weekend."
