Christie and Barton set to start at Dons

7 November 2013

City boss Steven Pressley confirms Adam Barton will step in for the suspended John Fleck...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has confirmed both Cyrus Christie and Adam Barton are likely to start against AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup tomorrow night.

Christie returned to the squad against Notts County after suffering an ankle injury during the 1-0 win over Stevenage at the start of September.

With John Fleck suspended, Barton is set to deputise in central midfield against the Dons as City looks to progress into the second round.

The City boss said: "Cyrus (Christie) has now returned to full training and he is doing really well.

"He was on the bench last week but he will definitely be in contention to start this week.

"He has been fantastic for the side this season so it will be a big boost to have him back in the side.

"Adam (Barton) has been really unlucky this season as he has had to wait patiently for an opportunity to start in his natural position.

"With (John) Fleck suspended, it presents an opportunity for him and I am sure he is eager to take it."
