Coventry City Football Club join in the Vaisakhi Sports Day celebrations...

Coventry City Football Club joined in with the Vaisakhi Sports Day celebrations, which were held in the War Memorial Park, on Sunday 5th May.

Thousands turned out for the family fun day, which was organised by the Sikh Union in Coventry and celebrated the anniversary of the Sikh faith through sport.

It was a free event which provided football tournaments, hockey demonstrations, rounders, golf, tug of war and Kabaddi, a south Asian team sport, amongst many other activities.

CCFC provided all the match balls for the football tournaments, offered free arts and crafts to the children, handed out free goodies, provided a free raffle to win a signed ball and CCFC merchandise was available to buy.

Former city star and Sky Blues in the Community manager Dave Busst and Sky Blue Sam were both on hand to present trophies and medals to the winners on the day.

It was a brilliant day to be a part of, which brought together different communities and cultures in the city of Coventry.
