Coventry City Supporters team are set to play Wolves' supporters at Liberty Way...
Coventry City’s successful supporters’ team is hoping to sign off its season in style – and boost the coffers of two charities.
Coventry City Supporters FC have been travelling the length and breadth of the country to take on other club’s fans throughout the season in a friendly, but competitive, manner.
The team will be taking on a group from Wolverhampton Wanderers at Nuneaton Town’s Liberty Way on Saturday, May 18 at 12.30pm.
Admission will be £2 for adults and free for under-16s and there are a range of sponsorship opportunities for local businesses starting at just £5 to sponsor a player in the match programme.
Every penny raised will be handed over to Balls to Cancer, which works to raise awareness of testicular cancer, and CHD UK, which raises money towards the treatment of children’s heart defects.
James Penny, of Coventry City Supporters FC, said: “We’ve had a really enjoyable season and developed some great friendships with other club’s supporters around the country.
“This is our last match of the season and it would be great if the lads had a crowd to cheer them over the line.
“On top of that, we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the two fantastic nominated charities – thanks to support from local businesses.
“We are hoping it will be a fun event for all the family and it would be great to get the backing of as many people as possible.”
