Sky Blues lend their support to 30th annual Coventry Fun Run
Coventry City Football Club are teaming up with the Coventry Fun Run to kick-off the 30th anniversary of the event.
This year’s Coventry Fun Run, which takes place on Sunday, June 9, will mark 30 years since the first event and to celebrate, the Sky Blues have offered to partner up with the organisers.
The Sky Blues will be helping to promote the event, assisting with the organising committee and will be represented at the run on the day.
Coventry Three Spires Round Table is organising the event, which will start and finish at the War Memorial Park, and Chairman, Trevor Binch is delighted that CCFC has volunteered to get involved.
He said: “Having the support of CCFC will make the 30th year the best yet for the Coventry Fun Run.
“We are confident that CCFC’s involvement will swell the number of runners, and make the whole day an experience everyone will remember.”
The run is approximately three-and-a-half miles long and participants are welcome to run or walk while raising money for a charity of their choice.
There will also be a Charity Fun Village in the park where CCFC will stage a ‘beat the goalie’ competition amongst a host of other attractions.
Tynan Scope from Coventry City said: “It is of paramount importance that the club is involved with the local community.
“The Coventry Fun Run is one of the biggest events in the local calendar so we are keen to get out there and do as much as we can to support it.
“We hope that our involvement can really help to promote the whole event and ultimately lead to more money being raised for good causes.”
Entry for the run is now open at www.coventryfunrun.co.uk and an early bird discount is available to those that register before April 1.
