SBitC launch brand new Saturday football sessions in Warwick
Sky Blues in the Community are launching a brand new Saturday morning fun football session in Warwick this weekend, for children aged 5 to 12.
The Saturday club provides football games and competitions for boys and girls of all abilities – with centres already running at the Alan Higgs Centre and Grace Academy in Coventry. The brand new Warwick club will be located at St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre on the Astroturf football pitch at the following times:
• Ages 5-8 activities from 9.45 – 10.45am
• Ages 9-11 from 11am to 12pm
The Saturday club has been supported through a sports development grant from Warwick District Council, and will run every Saturday including through school holiday periods. Thanks to the Warwick District Council grant, the first football session this Saturday will be FREE for all those attending.
The Sky Blues FA qualified coaches will be organising games and competitions for children with the emphasis on providing a safe and fun environment for children to play and enjoy football – whether as an introduction to the game or for more experienced players.
Joint Head of Community David Busst said “We are really pleased to be working with Warwick District Council who have supported the launch of our new Saturday club. Our Saturday clubs have always been popular and St Nicholas Park is a great venue to launch a new centre – with holiday courses also planned there for the summer holidays.
“We are delighted to be able to offer this first session free to children, and the sports development grant means that we can keep the cost of the sessions down for the next 10 weeks to £1.50 for each child – which is great value for money.”
