Coventry City fans have the chance to see our very own Sky Blue Sam take to the field at Edgbaston this Friday as he takes part in the first ever West Midlands Mascot Derby at the Warwickshire Bears Friends Life t20 match against Worcestershire.
During the interval of the Bears’ eagerly awaited clash with local rivals Worcestershire, Sky Blue Sam will take part in a race on the outfield against Warwickshire’s own Hugh and Carmen Bear, Aston Villa’s Bella, Birmingham City’s Beau Brummie and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Wolfie.
Friday night’s match gets underway at 7.10pm and will be the Bears’ penultimate game of the Friends Life t20 group stages, as they bid to reach the quarter-finals and the subsequent tournament Finals Day, which is being staged on their home ground of Edgbaston on Saturday 17th August.
Dougie Brown, Warwickshire’s Director of Cricket, said: “Our home twenty20 match against Worcestershire is always the most popular domestic match of the season with a fantastic atmosphere generated by both sets of supporters.
“With the weather set fair for Friday night we’re all looking forward to another great occasion and we hope that the many City fans will be able to roar us on to another victory, which would take us a huge step forwards towards qualification for the quarter-finals.”
City fans can secure their ticket for Warwickshire Bears v Worcestershire at the advance price of £15 for Adults (£20 on the gate) whilst Junior tickets are priced at £5 at all times.
