City boss scoops gong with McGoldrick picking up player award

Sky Blues boss Mark Robins has won the award for December's npower League One Manager of the Month.

City's form during the festive month saw them go unbeaten, winning four games and drawing one with two wins coming away from home at Doncaster and MK Dons.

Now-departed loan striker David McGoldrick was also awarded December's npower League One Player of the Month for his exploits for City before the end of his loan spell with the club on New Year's Day, scoring braces in the wins at Doncaster and at home to Walsall.

Speaking about Mark Robin’s win, award panel member Alan Curbishley said: "Mark Robins has really given Coventry fans something to shout about, going unbeaten in December and moving the Sky Blues towards the play-off places.”

Fellow panel member and npower sponsorship manager Emma Collins added: "Mark Robins really was the stand out candidate this month. Four wins and a draw out of five is a fine achievement on its own, but when you look at the calibre of opponent and amount of away fixtures, you realise it has been a very special spell.
