Coventry City manager Mark Robins believes the Johnstone Paint Trophy Area Final against Crewe Alexandra has caught the City’s imagination, with ticket sales now over 21,000.

More than 21,000 City fans have already snapped up their tickets for the first leg on Tuesday, February 5 passing the previous best of 15,185, set on New Year’s Day for the visit of Shrewsbury.

With 11 days left until the match takes place, Robins is happy that excitement is building for the Area final in the City.

The Sky Blues boss said: “It is brilliant news, but it isn't a surprise as we have had great backing from the fans recently and they will continue to do that.

“I think it has really caught the City’s imagination and with it being a final, I am sure the fans will experience a great occasion.

“It also tells us – as staff and players – that there is a big expectation to succeed at this football club and shows how much this City wants success for the club.

“We are two games away from a trip to Wembley and I am sure the fans would love to see that.”

Remember tickets for the clash are just £5 for everybody! Will you be there?
