'Defeat is an alien feeling' - Robins

1 January 2013

City boss Mark Robins disappointed with spurned chances as City's undefeated run comes to an end.

Coventry City boss Mark Robins said the feeling of defeat was 'alien' after the Sky Blues went down 1-0 at home to Shrewsbury Town.

Marvin Morgan netted the only goal of the game to seperate the two sides and Robins said he was disappointed by the result because the Sky Blues created so many chances but did not capitalize.

"We've had so many opportunities and so many attempts on goal and when you spurn the chances you create like we did then you have to keep them out at the other end and we didn't do that," Robins said.

"Credit to Shrewsbury though. They kept going and they punished us.

"It is an alien feeling and I feel we've let ourselves down after the way we've been playing. We had enough chances to win three or four games to be honest.

"We had 21 shots on goal but we should've done better with regards to taking them. We didn't do enough in attack or defence and our play became a bit bitty and erratic.

"We have to take it on the chin now and we need to get ourselves going on another good run. It's just disappointing to start the new year with a defeat."
