Coventry break JPT attendance record!

Coventry City fans are being urged to arrive early for Tuesday night’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Area Final against Crewe on the back of news that the attendance is set to break a competition record.

Advance ticket sales have already tipped over the 30,000 mark – surpassing the JPT’s previous record for a match outside the overall final which was 29,901 when Southampton took on the MK Dons in 2010.

Because of the large number of supporters coming to the game, the club is urging fans to make sure they arrive in plenty of time.

Ticketing manager Dan Walker said: “This is yet another fantastic landmark and we are delighted that we are set to break the competition record for a match other than the overall final.

“We hope that the level of support – particularly with the supporters’ campaign to create a sea of Sky Blue with scarves and shirts – will really act as a 12th man for the team.

“With such a big crowd, however, it is definitely going to be busy at the turnstiles and I would strongly urge supporters to get here early.

“It means they can soak up the atmosphere but also we can get everyone in their seats well in time for kick-off.”

Those fans who have bought a ticket for the JPT Area Final at the Ricoh Arena are reminded that they can get an additional £5 off a 2012/13 home shirt, meaning adult shirts are £15 and kids’ shirts are £10.
