Coventry City interim first team manager Lee Carsley has confirmed Stephen Elliott will go for a scan next Monday.
The Irish striker picked up a knee injury during training before the Bournemouth match and the club hope to have a clearer picture on the extent of the injury next week.
Elliott had started the last three matches before the fixture at the Goldsands Stadium and has scored four goals for the Sky Blues this season.
Carsley said: "We have had a bit of bad luck with Stephen (Elliott). Nothing is concrete but he is struggling at the moment with an injury picked up during training.
"He will be back in Monday for another scan so we hope to have a clearer picture of the injury then. It is a big blow as he is an important part of the side.
"His work-rate is always appreciated by the squad and he has played extremely well over the last three games."
