Crewe goalkeeper Steve Phillips has thanked City fans for their support...
Crewe Alexandra will be running a bucket collection outside and around Gresty Road before the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Area Final second leg with Coventry City.
All the proceeds of the collection will go to Crewe goalkeeper Steve Phillips’ charity fundraising for Caudwell Children and Leukaemia Research.
Phillips is currently raising money for both charities ahead of his London-to-Paris cycle ride in June.
There will be 20 volunteers to help out with the bucket collection and Phillips has personally thanked the Coventry fans for their support via social media.
The Crewe stopper told www.crewealex.net: “The chance to do a ground collection for one of the biggest gates we have had in a while, it was a great gesture by the club and will give us another opportunity to raise a few quid for the charities.
“I would like to thank the Coventry fans because they have been brilliant as well. They have sent some kind messages on Twitter and I’m sure they will find some coins to throw in because they are a great club with a great support. “
Alternatively, you can also purchase a Paris-To-London bike ride pin badge for £3 from the Crewe club shop with all proceeds going to the two charities.
