Coventry City's second half performance turned an entertaining Boxing Day clash on it's head after they ran out 4-2 winners over Posh at Sixfields.
City trailed 2-1 at the break but fired home three second half goals to get back to winning ways at Sixfields.
Former Sky Blues striker Shaun Jeffers gave Posh a 13th minute lead and although Leon Clarke netted in first half stoppage time to level, Lee Tomlin went straight up the other end to grab a second for the visitors at the break.
Clarke grabbed another leveller straight after the restart though with Franck Moussa putting City ahead before Callum Wilson netted a late fourth.
Sky Blues boss Steven Pressley rang two changes to his side for the home clash with Callum Wilson coming in for striker Chris Dagnalland Andy Webster replacing the injured Jordan Clarkre at centre half.
Joe Murphy was called into action for City with three minutes gone when Kyosi Ntlhe cut inside Cyrus Christie and shot at goal just inside the area. Murphy's appry kept the effort out but the loose ball fell to Tomlin who could only scuff the follow up.
City proceeded to dominate the opening ten minutes though and their pressure very nearly resulted in an opener after 13 minutes when Christie whipped a low ball across the six yard area, aimed for Leon Clarke but flicked behind by Shaun Brisley.
Peterborough thought they were ahead moments later when Jermaine Anderson's cross met Britt Assombalonga to turn the ball in, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
Callum Wilson was inches away from poking home an opener himself on 18 minutes when a long range deflected effort from John Fleck saw Bobby Olejnik stretch out to keep the ball from going out for a corner and inadvertently palming it into the path of Wilson who almost reached it only for Olejnik to recover.
Posh then went ahead three minutes later. A clever free kick saw Tomlin float a ball over the top to the back post for Brisley to head at goal and although Murphy did well to stop the initial effort, Shaun Jeferds was on hand to hammer home the loose ball from six yards.
City nearly grabbed a leveller though just bnefore the hour when Franck Moussa drove through the midfield and weighted a through ball for Christie to cut inside Ntlhe and fire at goal from just inside the area only for Olejnik to be equal to it.
Olejnik could do nothing about the Sky Blues' next effort with 11 minutes of the jalf to go although fortunately for him the woodwork came to his rescue when Leon Clarke's free kick effort clipped the top of the crossbar.
It was Clarke that levelled for City as the half approached added on time and it was well deserved and well taken despite it coming from a goalkeeping error.
A pass pass back to Olejnik saw the 'keeper clear only as far as Clarke who calmly finished intoi an open net from 20 yards.
No sooner were City level though Peterborough came straight back with a second with the last kick of the half. Mark Little burst down the right and played a ball back for Tomlin who got around Christie and fired home at the second attempt after Mirphy saved his first.
The Sky Blues got their second half off to a dream start though when Clarke restored parity three minutes after the restart.
Baker won a corner which Olejnik punched into the air, Clarke then on hand to fire home from six yards as the ball dropped down.
Olejnik was required to keep out Baker just two minutes later when the midfielder broke forward andf fired from range, the Posh 'keeper parrying the ball away from danger.
The momentum was clearly with the Sky Blues and there was disbelief when Carl Baker was handed a golden opportunity to put City ahead on 54 minutes when he received a square ball from Clarke but took too many touches jusy six yards from goal and could not force the ball home.
Just before the hour the Sky Blues thought they had that third when Franck Moussa's effort was fumbled by Olejnik and Clarke turned the ball home. This time his finish was ruled out for offside.
City kept coming forward though and Olejnik was forced into another solid low save after 70 minutes when Moussa shot from the edge of the area.
Olejnik was by far and away becoming the main thorn in City's side by constantly denying them in front of goal and he did it again with 13 minutes to go when a through ball from Fleck found Clarke who tried to finish low inside the near post only to see a great low one-handed save from the Posh 'keeper.
A third was coming for City though and this time it was Clarke the provider with ten minutes to go. Substitute Chris Dagnall played a sharop ball into the area for the striker who in turn layed a delicate through pass on to Moussa who put his foot through the finish to leave no doubt and put City ahead for the first time.
The final few moments were frought with drama though when Little's low cross from the right into the six-yard box looked certain to be turned in only for Murphy to make a stop on the line. While Posh were still protesting whether or not it had crossed, Murphy's quick thinking allowed him to release a quick ball for Callum Wilson who blazed up the pitch and smacked home a superb finish for City's fourth and wrap up all of the Boxing Day points.
