The Sky Blues attacked the second-half and got level thanks to a deflected shot from debutant Chris Dagnall in the 66th minute.
Chris Maguire came on to replace Carl Baker and he had an incredible impact on his first appearance for the club as he rifled home two superb free kicks in the last five minutes to lift City back into the top half of the table.
