'Fleck a major doubt' - Pressley

31 December 2013

City boss Steven Pressley has confirmed they will make a late decision on the Scottish midfielder...

Coventry City midfielder John Fleck is 'a major doubt' for the New Year's Day clash at Rotherham United.

The Scottish midfielder, who has been ever-present in the City side this season, came off during the 1-1 draw with Oldham Athletic in the 67th minute having picked up a hamstring strain .

Both Billy Daniels and Adam Barton are in contention to replace Fleck in the side at the New York Stadium tomorrow.

City boss Steven Pressley has said they will make a late decision on Fleck's fitness and confirmed centre-back Jordan Clarke is still a doubt.

Pressley said: "John (Fleck) is a major doubt for tomorrow's game against Rotherham. There are still the after-effects of the injury sustained against Oldham.

"Because of that, it is touch and go. We're unsure whether we will risk him for tomorrow's game. It is the type of injury where you could miss one game and be back.

"But if he plays, he could potentially miss a month. Another one is Jordan Clarke. He will train today but whether he will play is something we still don't know.

"He has to get through today's session and we will then assess the situation with him then."
