Sky Blues take a point away from the Greenhous Meadow after Callum Wilson's early opener is cancelled out by Bradshaw
Coventry City made it four games unbeaten in the league with a 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury Town at the Greenhous Meadow.
Callum Wilson took his goal tally to six for the season with his fifth-minute opener and the Sky Blues could count themselves unfortunate not to have had more following a string of good saves from Shrews 'keeper Chris Weale in the first half.
City were left to rue their spurned first half chances though as the Shreews grabbed a leveller two minutes after the break through Tom Bradshaw to make it hours even.
It was business as usual for the Sky Blues though regardless of the changes when they took the lead after just five minutes courtesy of Wilson who ran onto a through ball from Baker before rounding Shrewsbury 'keeper Weale and slotting calmly home.
It was nearly two for for City two minutes when Franck Moussa picked up the ball on the edge of the area and worked his way into the 18-yard box, switching onto his left foot before firing a low drive aimed at the bottom corner which forced a great save out of Weale.
The game was 12 minutes old before Shrewsbury carved out a credible chance of their own when Ryan Woods got to the byline and floated a cross into the box for Adam Reach, the delivery inches to high for the striker.
Chances for the home side were few and far between though and there was no denying the Sky Blues' early dominance which again nearly resulted in a second when Baker drove through the midfield and played a short ball to Leon Clarke who turned and tried to bend a shot from 20 yards around Weale who parried the ball around his post.
The Shrews 'keeper came to the rescue again three minutes before the half hour when Wilson dispossessed Woods in midfield and shot early from nearly 30 yards, Weale again turning the shot around his post.
Shrewsbury went close on 33 minutes, albeit from long range, when Luke Summerfield tried his luck from 25 yards and saw his shot slowly rise just over Joe Murphy's bar.
City began the second half in confident fashion and again nearly extended their lead a minute after the restart when Wilson drifted past two players and cut a ball back for Clarke four yards out who was denied a simple finish by a last ditch block from Darren Jones.
The Sky Blues would be left to rue the missed opportunity when just moments later a quick break down the right from half-time substitute Curtis Main saw the midfielder float a pinpoint delivery into the box for Bradshaw to poke first time past Murphy for the equaliser.
The goal saw a shift in momentum as the home side proceeded to claim the majority of the possesion early on in the second period and very nearly got a second a minute before the hour when a through ball found Aaron Wildig who beat the offside trap and floated a finish over Joe Murphy but over his bar as well.
Four minutes after the hour Weale was required at the other end when Carl Baker won a free kick 20 yards our after a clash with Summerfield, Leon Clarke stepping up to bend one around the wall which dipped later and nearly deceived Weale as he scrambled to his post to keep the shot out.
City went close again on 69 minutes when a superb passage of passing between Christie, Baker and Thomas set Christie free down the right to fire in a low early ball which flashed across goal and was just beyond the reach of Callum Wilson's boot as he raced to the edge of the six-yard area.
Shrewsbury came alarmingly close to grabbing a second of their own with four minutes to go though when a deep corner delivery picked out Main whose looping header needed Murphy to tip it over the bar.
His effort was not the last of the game though which saw the Sky Blues desperately press in search of a winner.
They came close twice in the closing moments, first when Cyrus Christie burst between two defenders and tried to cut a ball back, only to be denied by ground Chris Weale.
It was Weale to then frustrate the Sky Blues again in the dying seconds when City sub Billy Daniels burst forward and shot from the edge of the area with the Shrews 'keeper again making a solid save to ensure shared spoils for both sides.
